Christmas

We had a great Christmas!

Christmas Eve at Grandma Lori's house.
The Christmas play. Cute angels.

One of the angels is sneaking a little nose pick :).

Here come Joseph and Mary and the baby Jesus.

It was so cute how seriously the kids took their little roles. They were so very reverent and took gentle care of the baby Jesus.

And look at cute little Mary

Little Miss Social LOVES nursery

Lately Halle is so excited to go to church because she LOVES nursery! It is such a change from Luke who still dreads going and doesn't want us to leave him in there. But Halle could care less that we drop her off. She loves it.

She always has a hard time making it through sacrament meeting because she just can't wait to go to nursery. Yesterday we made it through about half of sacrament meeting and she got restless so we wandered the halls for awhile. When there was only a few minutes left of sacrament meeting she was so ready to play, so I took her into the nursery room and let her play with some toys until the other kids got there.

The kids started showing up and one by one as they would come in the door Halle would run up and greet them with a big hug and say, "Hi Pheobe!" or "Hi Lily!" Most of these kids are still a little bit shy as they walk in the room and not quite sure if they are ready to be there, so it was pretty funny to see them walk a little hesitantly and have Halle run over to them and practically knock them down giving them a big hug and greeting them so excitedly!

Then, after about five or so kids had gotten there she turned to me and said, "Okay, Mommy, time for you to go!"

Then she lead to me the door and said, "Have fun at your class!" and literally pushed me out the door and closed it on me! It was so cute and funny. She is such a fun girl.

A map to Santa's house

Luke knows the way to Santa's house AND has it all drawn out on the above map. Halle loves this map and follows right alongside Luke to get to Santa's house. You have to go over a red bridge, past the yellow library, over a big blue rock, past the green North Pole, and past the cookie place which is a giant brown chocolate chip cookie. Then you will finally be to Santa's house. It's purple.

As you can tell, this map has gotten a lot of usage already. Luke and Halle love to ride around the basement on their bikes and Luke carries this map and tells Halle to follow him as they hit each stop on the way to Santa's house in the different corners of the basement. Luke has a wonderful imagination and so does Halle. I'll hear Luke call, "Come on, Halle, to the North Pole!" and she'll respond, "Okay, Lukey!" And off they go on their bikes. Too cute.

Video from Santa

I knew Luke would love to get a video message from Santa, but little did I know that Halle at just two years old would love it so much!

Yesterday morning I sat the kids down to show them the good news - Santa had sent videos from the North Pole for both of them! They were so excited. We took turns watching their videos and after a couple times each Luke was ready to move on to the next thing. But not Halle, she wanted to watch hers over and over and over again.

So all day long it was, "Mommy, I watch my Santa bideo!" (she says her V's with the B sound) "Santa sent a bideo to ME!" "I LOVE Santa Claus!"

I did try to distract her from time to time so she wasn't glued to the computer ALL day long, but I figured I'd let her soak in the magic of Santa Claus...and modern technology all at once. :)

I thought she might forget about it overnight, but guess what her first request was after waking up all sleepy eyed this morning? "Santa bideo, Mommy."

Today it wasn't quite as constant as yesterday, but she is still totally into it. Wonder how long this will last?

I love our funny little girl.

Halle's Christmas card for uncle Jake on a mission

I love what Halle told me to write in Jake's Christmas card she made him. I wrote exactly what she said:

"Uncle Jake,
I love Halloween. I love popcorn. I love trick or treating. I want to run around together. I like to run. I like my baby oh so much.
Love,
Halle"

Dad's creepy mustache

Daddy grew his beard out for no shave November and when he finally shaved it he left the mustache for a few hours just for fun. Too funny/creepy not to remember :).

First snow fall

We had our first big snowfall and the kids couldn't wait to play in it. So we got them all bundled up and ready to go. Halle had lots of fun trudging around and mostly eating the snow. Luke also had fun trudging around making footprints.

Daddy went outside with them and started making a snowman. Halle followed right behind him. But the kiddos got tired and cold, and didn't last too long. So good old Daddy stayed out there and finished up the snowman himself.

The kids had been inside, changed into their jammies and warmed up with me for awhile by the time Daddy was done. But he still wanted them to come out to take the picture with him of our first snowman of the year.
