Lots of diapers!

One of our neighbors did a diaper and wipes shower for me and a couple of the other moms in the ward who are expecting. Halle came with me to the shower and we had a fun time.  And now we have lots and lots of diapers and wipes to get us started for our twins on the way!

Family photos

We took some family photos over the weekend. I am about 5 months pregnant with the twins in these. Probably our last family photos as a family of four! It was a challenge to get Luke to sit still and take a few photos of him by himself, but Halle was willing and flashed all sorts of cute poses!

Girl time!

While Daddy and Luke are gone at the BYU game Mommy and Halle get to spend some "girl time" together! I asked Halle what she wanted to do and of course the "jump place" was her request. So we started out at lunch at McDonald's (Halle loves their cheeseburgers and smoothies and loves the play place), then went to dunkin donuts for desert (donuts are her favorite!), then to the shoe store to find her some new shoes, and finally the jump place!

This is her happy place. She just loves jumping on all the trampolines, doing the balance beam, jumping into the foam pits, and doing tricks. Love this brave girl of mine and love spending special time with her!

Fun at the zoo

Today we went to the zoo with Grandma Lori, Grandpa Sheldon, and aunt Jamie and had a fun time! It was a nice warm September day. Afterward Luke and Halle got to go home with grandma and grandpa and have a sleepover.

Halle had a great time in the water play area and would have loved it if I let her get soaking wet. Next time we'll bring shoes and clothes that can get wet!

Pregnant costume?

In our conversation over breakfast the kids were giving me all sorts of suggestions of what I can be for Halloween with my "big pregnant tummy"...pumba, the marshmallow man, jabba the hut...and they weren't laughing, these were sincere suggestions. Needless to say I'm feeling really cute this morning .

5 year check up

Today we had Halle's 5 year old checkup. She's doing wonderful as usual! She weighs 40.5 pounds which puts her at the 54th percentile for weight and she is 42.52 inches tall putting her in the 47th percentile for height. Perfectly average for both. She has to get a shot today which wasn't fun but she was brave and didn't even cry. Afterward we went to the donut shop (donuts are her favorite treat) since she was such a brave girl. We love this girl so much and are so grateful she is healthy and happy!

Fall ball

These cute kiddos had fun playing on the same baseball team this fall and we had a lot of fun watching them! Grandma Lori and Grandpa Sheldon were able to come to a lot of the games which was fun.

This was Halle's first year playing and she started out a little timid hitting the ball but by the end she was hitting it hard and far every time. In the outfield she did good catching and throwing the ball and sometimes had more fun sitting in the dirt and scooping dirt into her mit and pouring it into her hat and on her head, which was funny and cute to watch. One game she volunteered to be the catcher and had that big heavy outfit on and after one catch started taking all the gear off and dropping it to the ground right there in the field - she was done! It was pretty funny.

Hopefully we'll get the chance for them to play on the same team again!

Crazy hair and cheering on brother

Today Luke had a jog a thon for his school fundraiser he was very excited for. It was also crazy hair day! Of course Halle wanted to do her hair crazy along with Luke this morning :).

Halle wanted to help me cheer on Luke in the jog a thon so I picked her up from preschool early and we went and cheered him on as he ran his laps to earn money for his school. It was hot outside but he still ran hard and did great! Fun day!

It's getting real

Yep, it's getting real! Our twin car seats were delivered last night. Halle excitedly helped me open the boxes this morning. She was trying to buckle Milly into them, but then I convinced her that I didn't think Milly would like that too much :).

I'm almost 22 weeks. I can't believe it! I'm probably only about 15 weeks out! Can't believe we will soon have two new babies in our lives. I am nervous and excited and anxious all at once. We can't wait to meet them!

Tumbling and preschool

Halle started a little tumbling class last week with her friend next door, Elise. She loves dancing and doing tricks and I think she'll really like the class. It's twice a week on Tuesday and Thursday mornings.

On Monday, Wednesday and Friday she has preschool, and on Monday and Wednesdays she has dance right before preschool at the same place her preschool is at. She does dance, then eats lunch there and then has preschool. I was a little worried that might be a little long for her, but so far she really likes it. She is such a social girl and loves being busy so I think keeping her busy will be good for her since she has another year until kindergarten since she will be old for her grade. I debated and debated whether to send her to kindergarten this year or not because she is really smart and social and could have gone, but in the end I decided to wait. I just wasn't quite sure if she was ready emotionally to start school and be gone everyday, plus I love having her home and would rather not rush her to grow up :). Love my girl!

Best brother and sister

Tonight I was trying to get the kids to bed but they wanted to get out some paper and markers and make each other "surprises" first. They had been playing together extra cute and nicely all day. So I gave in. When they were done they proudly gave each other these..Halle worked hard on coloring this Doc McStuffins picture for Luke and Luke gave Halle this note. He said it is for her to remember him when he's at school tomorrow and that every smartie is worth 1000 hugs (I think being apart now all day from each other has been an adjustment for them). They both loved what they had made for each other. Melted my heart. I was glad I gave in and let them stay up 15 minutes longer. It's nice to be reminded that as much as they torment and tease each other they are still best little friends and love each other ❤️. Love my sweet kiddos more than anything.

Lake Powell

We went to Lake Powell over Labor Day weekend and had a great time! The weather was nice and I was feeling better this time being over the pregnancy sickness. The kids had lots of fun as usual and loved playing on the beach, fishing, paddle boarding, and Halle even tried wake surfing for the first time with Daddy! The highlights of the trip for me were watching Luke and Halle paddle board around the bay together playing so nicely together, and when they both wanted to try wake surfing and got up easily the first try with Cory and did a great job! We have little fish on our hands and I'm glad they enjoy the water and being at the lake so much.
