Girl time!

Yesterday when the boys went golfing mommy and Halle went and got ice cream! Halle got a "banilla" (vanilla) red topper. Banilla is her favorite!

Great Grandma Lee's 80th birthday party

Last night we went to a 80th birthday party for Cory's Grandma Bagshaw (Leora Bagshaw). The kids call her "Grandma Lee" but really she's their great grandma. The party was a luau theme and was a lot of fun. We bought the kids some Hawaiian outfits when we were in Hawaii over in anniversary so they fit right in with the theme!

Great Grandma Lee is a very sweet person and the kids love being around her. She always loves to talk to them and be around them.

Before the party I tried getting some pictures of the kids together in their outfits, which is always easier said than done, but I did get one that worked out.

Our family right now...in a nutshell

I was updating my public family blog (public to friends) with some recent updates and wanted to write a little description on our family since it had been so long since I had written anything. So I wrote a little something and then decided I should also put it in our journals because it sort of wrapped is up in a little nutshell pretty good. Here it is:

Luke is our curious, inquisitive, silly, creative, determined, good natured four year old boy.
Halle is our outgoing, friendly, talkative, sweet, sunshiny, girly and tough at the same time three year old girl.
They are best buddies.
We are their parents doing the best we can raising these two little rascals that we love with all our hearts.

Three year check up

Today our cute girl had her three year check up. She was so friendly with the nurses and the doctor and just walked around there like she always does with a big smile on her face, swinging her little arms and bouncing up and down as she walks. She just makes me smile.

She looked great all around. Right now she weighs 30 pounds and is in the 50th percentile for weight, and is 36 inches tall and is in the 35th percentile for height.

She was so excited for her "check up" all morning and was happy to let the doctor listen to her heart and check her ears and all that fun stuff, and loved talking to the doctor and telling her all about how she is three now and her birthday party while she was checking her. Toward the end the doctor said "she is just a little spitfire isn't she! I love it!" Yes she is!

After the check up the nurse
Came in with the flu mist for both kids. Halle is so funny and so brave, Luke was a little skeptical about it so I asked Halle if she wanted to do it first and she said, "sure!" So she got up there and did it without any fuss and with a smile on her face. That is so like her. Yes, she is a busy girl and always up to something, but she is always such a happy girl and so happy go lucky and sweet.

I've said it before, but this girl is my sunshine! Couldn't love her more!

Halle's 3rd Birthday!

Our sweet Halle turned three years old last week. I can hardly believe she is already three. Halle is such a sunshine in our lives. She is such a happy and sweet little girl and is always up to something. She is easy going but determined at the same time. She is busy and very smart. She loves coloring and doing puzzles and is such a talker! She has been talking like she was three since she was literally one and half, so I'm so used to it, but we will still be around someone that doesn't know us as well and they will say, "Wow, she is an amazing talker!"  She really is and she is so social. She will talk up and talk to anyone and makes friends very easily. She is tough, she rarely cries when she gets hurt. She is best friends with Luke and they are such good little friends. She is so sweet and has such a good little soul. It melts my heart when she says, "I love you, Mama." or "Thank you, Mama." I love that she calls me Mama. Sometimes it's Mommy, sometimes Momsy, but whenever she tells me she loves me or thank you it's always Mama. I love this little girls with all my heart and don't know what I would do without her.

Halle LOVES Yo Gabba Gabba, a funny little kid show. It's her favorite show in the world and she got little Yo Gabba Gabba stuffed animals for Christmas that she loves to play with. So of course, she wanted a Yo Gabba Gabba birthday party. I was worried I wouldn't be able to find anything Yo Gabba Gabba themed, but thank goodness for the internet! I was able to find all sorts of fun Gabba stuff for her party. It was just a little party with the four of us, Grandma Lori and Grandpa Sheldon, Uncle Jake and Aunt Jamie.  We ate hot dogs for lunch, then had Yo Gabba Gabba cupcakes, then she opened presents and we did a pinata. It was a lot of fun.

The one thing she REALLY wanted for her birthday was "a DJ Lance Doll." She has been talking about getting a DJ Lance doll for forever. DJ Lance is the DJ that is in the Yo Gabba Gabba show. She got all the animal characters for Christmas but I never thought she would want a DJ Lance too. But she sure did, and has been talking about it literally since Christmas! So I finally found one online. He is quite hilarious, has a big orange fro and wears all orange...probably not typically a "doll" that a little three year old girl would want, but Halle sure did! She also got some Yo Gabba Gabba bath toys and  Dora microphone from us. Grandma Lori and Grandma Sheldon gave her a cute little car with a mommy, little girl and doggy. She really likes it.

The pinata was fun. Halle had fun trying to hit it. Luke has a really good swing and was hitting it really good and hard, but the pinata was tough and they couldn't quite get it. So we asked Uncle Jake to join in, and he finally busted it open! It was filled with fruit snacks - Halle's favorite treat - and a few little toys. Halle loves Uncle Jake and thinks he is so neat, it's pretty cute.

I asked Halle if there was anything else special she wanted to do on her birthday other than have a Yo Gabba Gabba party with cupcakes and a pinata, which is what she said she wanted. She said she wanted to go swimming. So after the party everyone went home and Cory and I took Halle and Luke to the Herriman Rec Center and went swimming there. They have some fun water slides and things and the kids loved it. It was a fun day.

We love our Halle girl so so much! What a special little girl. It makes me sad that she's growing so fast, but I am also excited to watch her as she grows up. I know she will be a lot of fun to watch and see what she does with all her talents, her outgoing personality, and her spunk for life!

WE LOVE YOU HALLE!!!!

The sunflower

When we got home from St. George the other day Luke and Halle went in the backyard and Luke came back inside all excited and said, "Mom, I have something really impressive to show you!"

I asked what it was and he led me outside to show me that the sunflower seed he planted and gave to me for Mother's Day finally bloomed! I was probably just as excited to see it had bloomed as he was! He has been taking such good care of it all summer long. Just about every morning he wakes up and one of the first things he has to do is go outside and check on the sunflower and water it. About a week or so into it Halle was feeling a little left out that she didn't have a sunflower seed to take care of too so we went to the store and bought some sunflower seeds and planted one in a little container for her and kept hers and Luke's outside alongside each other. So each day the kids would go water and check on their sunflowers. We had to save those little flower carton blooms once or twice because of storms and made sure we were taking good care of them. Halle's hasn't bloomed yet but it looks like it will now any day.

We ended up planting both Luke and Halle's sunflowers the other night right front and center in our flower garden that is directly out from our back porch so we will be able to see them all the time. We are excited for Halle's to bloom.
