Spider monkey girl

Yesterday I walked in the room to find this. "I just needed to get a closer look at the Elf, mom!" The funniest part is when I had her get back down and show me how in the world she got up there, it was as easy as pie for her! She just reached up to the ledge, pulled herself up, and rock-wall climbed the fireplace up to the top in about five seconds flat! I don't know where she gets it, but she is one strong, nimble and tricky little thing!

Christmas miracle!

It's a Christmas miracle! They decided to sleep out in the fort they made next to the Christmas tree, and actually fell asleep! Dog and all :). They had such a fun time building this fort today and played in it for hours. I love that they love having sleepovers together on the weekends. Love these sweet kids.

World Prematurity Day

Yesterday was World Prematurity Day, which holds a special place in our family's heart. I always had interest in prematurely born babies being a premie myself, but having our own sweet babies being born early and going through everything we did with Asher, it now has a whole new meaning to us. Here are our premies (born at 35 weeks) then and now at 11 months old! In a nutshell, they stayed inside mommy much longer than expected after going into preterm labor at 27 weeks and being put on bedrest. Once they were born Avery was the littler one and healthy while Asher was very sick and had a month long stay in the NICU plus an additional month being on oxygen and monitored at home. But today they are both healthy, happy and thriving! We are so grateful for the miracle of modern medicine, prayer and these sweet blessings in our lives! ❤️

Babies first shopping cart ride

Today Halle was a big helper with the babies at Costco! It was their first time riding in the cart! After I put them in the cart here in the parking lot Halle said, "Aww, they look so cute! Take a picture of them, mom!" :)

Family portrait

I was so impressed with Halle's drawing of our family the other day. Look at how detailed it is! And, she incorporated her favorite rainbow colors into it, too. So sweet. She's a little artist! This girl is good at everything!

Tea party

Cute Halle set up a tea party for me when she got home from kindergarten today. She had me close my eyes and then she led me to it and let me open them. So cute and fun! Love my girl!

Primary program

Last Sunday was our Primary Program. Our kids did so good in their parts and their singing! I loved watching them up there on the stand.

Halle was so darn cute and animated up there. She was standing in the very front during every song and she got really into the songs and was very animated in her facial expressions. There was one song "Follow the Prophet" that has actions to it but the primary didn't do the actions while they sang it in the program, but Halle made sure to work some actions into it. You could tell she wanted to make sure we were all entertained. She would look over at us and give us big smiles. When it came to her part she did a very good job going up to the microphone and saying her part loud and clearly. Her part was "I obey Jesus Christ because I love him." I noticed there was only one other girl her age who had her part memorized out of the 10 or 12 kids Halle's age. Halle is so smart and it was very easy for her to memorize it.

They both did a great job and we loves watching them!

Leaders of the week!

Luke and Halle both got "highlighted" with the leader of the week award in their classes on Friday and got to pick a highlighter from the principal's office. They were both so proud, and surprised they got it in the same week! So proud of my good kids!

I tried to get a picture of Luke by himself too, but he wouldn't cooperate or hold still for it! It was like pulling teeth just to get him to do the photo of them together, little stinker, haha.

Girls night out to The Little Mermaid

Had a such a fun time seeing Little Mermaid with my favorite girl the other night! The play was so well done and Halle loved every minute of it. I loved that she sat on my lap almost the entire play (I know she won't want to do that much longer) and I love how magical it all was for her. That was her first time going to a play, and I'd say it was a success! We had such a fun time. Halle's wish came true and she got to meet and get pictures with the cast afterward (and we had to get pictures with just about every last one of them!) I sure love this girl of mine! She's such a special girl and I feel so blessed to have her as a daughter. ❤️

Tea party

Halle spent a good hour prepping for her tea party from the drawing of her name for decoration and making little invitations to setting up the box table and tea party set. Avery and I were lucky enough to get an invitation. Halle was very excited about it and took it very seriously. We has a wonderful little tea party.

Late night girls night

Late night cupcake decorating and high school musical watching while the boys are gone at Father's and Sons. Halle was such a good sport when our plans of nail painting, cupcake making and movie watching kept getting postponed because of the babies taking turns being fussy all night. Finally they settled down and we got to decorate the cupcakes and watch the movie. We'll call it a late night girls night!

We also got Halle's favorite, Little Ceasers pizza for dinner.

I felt so bad the night was so crazy. I really just wanted a night to hang out with my girl and was hoping all would go smoothly with putting the babies to bed, but it didn't. I am so proud of Halle for being understanding. She is such a special girl and I love her so much. I have so much fun with her and truly treasure our relationship. I hope we always stay close and I hope she always wants to have girls nights with me!

I know having the twins hasn't been easy in her, I have been pulled every which way and am so busy with them and it has been a huge change for Halle to have in her life. But she has been a good girl and sweet and helpful with the babies although I know it's been hard. I hope she knows how much I love her and how I feel sorry this has been such a transition. From me first getting super sick last summer and not being able to get out of bed Because I was so sick, to having to be on bedrest and not being able to do anything soon after I started feeling better, to the last six months with the babies which have been so busy and crazy. But I am so grateful for Halle and the sunshine and wonderful, sweet and darling person she is. She amazes me everyday with how smart and clever she is. Halle girl, I love you more than you'll ever know!

Preschool graduation!

Today was Halle's preschool graduation! I can't believe how fast she is growing up. She is such a smart girl and is so ready for kindergarten! The graduation was really cute. The kids sang songs they have been singing all year like "50 nifty United States" and "Let's go fly a kite" and lots more. Halle was sure cute up there on stage and knew every word to every song, and every action! She's our little star!

Cutest graduate ever!

Halle with her teacher, Miss Ann.

After the graduation daddy took Halle and Luke to Cowabunga Bay for a little while (I stayed home with sleeping babies).

Earlier today I asked Halle what she wanted to eat for dinner (she got to pick since it was her graduation) and she said In N Out hamburgers and cupcakes. So we made the cupcakes earlier and when they got home from the waterpark they decorated them (Luke wanted a mini cake). The framing of our basement was actually getting finished up tonight when they got home. Halle was cute and wanted to share her cupcakes with the workers and gave them each one.

This is Halle's preschool picture.

And her class.

This was a cute thing Halle brought home on the last day. It's what each of these kids said about her.

She is growing too fast. Watch out kindergarten here she comes!

Summer is here!

We had fun visiting Luke at his school field day on Tuesday.

Then on Friday to celebrate Luke's last day of school we went to the "famous snow cone place" as the kids call it.

And then Luke and Halle had a sleepover and watched a movie. We are excited for summer!

Super girl and cowgirl

This week Halle had two days at preschool where they dressed up. Wednesday was Superhero day and Halle wanted to be super girl with red hair. I'd rather not admit how long it took me to sew that cape the night before! (Ok, it was two hrs and I was up till 12:00am doing it!) but that's ok because she looked pretty dang super! In fact I posted the below picture on Instagram and one of my friends said she looked "fierce." I agree! She sure is a spunky one. And I must say she pulled off that red hair really well! Not very many people could make that color of red look pretty, but she sure did.

She had to fill out a sheet asking what her super power was and she said "stretching power."  I definitely agree! She is an awesome tumbler and has her splits down and is super bendy and flexible!

Her teachers gave her this

Then Friday the class had a field trip to Texas Rosshouse and could dress like cowboys/cowgirls. Halle was a cute cowgirl.

I can't believe the school year is slmost over and Halle will be in kindergarten!

Silly girl

Halle loves for me to lay with her at night while she falls asleep. We've been trying to get her to fall asleep on her own more but tonight I laid with her and she said the funniest thing. She said, "mom, sometimes I stare at you and I imagine baby chicks popping out of your head." What?! Hahaha. I don't know if she's just super tired or what but I thought that was pretty funny. Love my silly, cute girl.

Dance class

Today at Halle's dance class it was parent observation day. It was so fun to go and see her dance! She is so coordinated and such a good dancer. I think like having me there and seemed to have fun performing for me and showing off her moves and what they do in class.

I knew Halle was super flexible but I didn't realize she could do this! Wow! I don't know where she gets it's but definitely not from me!

She was great and dance and when they did a little tubljng she really impressed everyone with her tumbling skills. She is one amazing little gymnast!

I has so much fun watching her! It was fun to have some time with just me and Halle. Love you my Halle girl! You are the best!
